In the course of our business, you may provide MICADOC with confidential information concerning your personal and/or business financial affairs. We recognize the importance of maintaining the confidentiality of that information and we are driven to ensure the highest standards of conduct. We adhere to all legal standards and industry best practices regarding customer privacy issues and non-public personal information (“NPPI”).

Since we value our relationship, we take very seriously our responsibility to maintain the personal and business information you have entrusted to us in the strictest confidentiality. We collect, maintain, use and share information about you only where we reasonably believe it will help administer our business or provide products, services and other opportunities to you.

Use of non-public personal information

We use your non-public personal information to verify your identity, provide you with quality customer service and conduct necessary title services with MICADOC and our direct third-party affiliates.


Types of non-public personal information

We collect various types of information about you during the normal course of offering and providing financial products and services related to title services. Information may include, but is not limited to:

  • any information an individual provides to get a financial product or service (for example, name, address, income, Social Security number, or other information on an application);
  • any information you get about an individual from a transaction involving your financial product(s) or service(s) (for example, the fact that an individual is your consumer or customer, account numbers, payment history, loan or deposit balances, and credit or debit card purchases); or
  • any information you get about an individual in connection with providing a financial product or service (for example, information from court records or from a consumer report).



Sharing of non-public personal information with third parties

Individuals or companies outside of MICADOC are considered third parties. Title companies are permitted (and sometimes even required) to share information with third parties for certain purposes; such as servicing customer relationships, fraud and risk management, and responding to transaction requests.

We may also disclose personal information to companies that perform marketing services on our behalf or to other financial institutions with which we have joint marketing agreements. We have confidentiality agreements with such parties that prohibit them from using customer's non-public personal information in any way other than as we direct.

In the event that MICADOC obtains non-public personal information about you and contemplates sharing such information in a manner inconsistent with this policy, you will be notified and provided with an opportunity, prior to such disclosure, to elect to exclude your information from being shared (Opt-Out).

We also share non-public personal information as legally required. We may share non-public personal information with law enforcement agencies or other third parties to prevent or investigate suspected fraudulent activities.


Sharing of non-public personal information with marketing companies


We DO NOT sell shareholder or client information to list brokers, marketing firms or any other third parties.


How we keep non-public personal information private

We have internal policies and procedures designed to keep shareholder and client non-public personal information safe. These include:

  • Allowing access to customer non-public personal information only to authorized employees performing specific job responsibilities necessitating such access
  • Maintaining physical, electronic and procedural safeguards that comply with federal regulations to protect consumer's non-public personal information
  • Training employees on privacy and disciplining any employees who violate our procedures
